Vaughan Williams - Rhosymedre

Another organ piece taking advantage of the homogeneity of the clarinet choir. A beautiful chorale prelude with a simple melody emerging from a gentle flowing accompaniment. Rhosymedre, sometimes known as Lovely, is the most popular of the 3 Preludes on Welsh Hymn Tunes by Vaughan Williams. This arrangement can be performed with as few as 5 people (4 Bb clarinets and a bass).

Widor - 1^st Movement From Symphony No. 6

Though Charles-Marie Widor is more widely known for the Toccata from his Organ Symphony No. 5, the Symphony directly following it maintains the spirit and energy embodied in the Toccata. The first movement is a formidable challenge for everybody in the ensemble from top to bottom. Such a great piece of music, look for subsequent movements of the Symphony in the near future.
