Bach - Fugue in E-flat Major, 'St. Anne's', BWV 552

A transcription of one of Bach's most intricate fugues, the Fugue in E-flat Major is based on the hymn tune known as 'St. Anne'. The piece consists of three sections (each with it's own fugal subject) all unified by the St. Anne tune.

Grainger - Sussex Mummers' Christmas Carol

Another lovely setting by Percy Grainger skillfully arranged to take advantage of the homogeneity of the clarinets. It doesn't necessarily have to be played at Christmas time (it's a pretty piece all year round).

A gentle pastoral prelude in 6/8 following by a unique fugue with an interesting chromatic subject in 4/2 time.

Vaughan Williams - Rhosymedre

Another organ piece taking advantage of the homogeneity of the clarinet choir. A beautiful chorale prelude with a simple melody emerging from a gentle flowing accompaniment. Rhosymedre, sometimes known as Lovely, is the most popular of the 3 Preludes on Welsh Hymn Tunes by Vaughan Williams. This arrangement can be performed with as few as 5 people (4 Bb clarinets and a bass) but can be expanded easily.
